OSRUI – KALLAH CHAPEL
The outdoor sanctuary at Olin Sang Ruby (OSRUI) in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is a sanctuary and worship space for a Jewish Youth Camp. The design and lay-out reinforce the campus like setting of the camp and distinguish the sanctity of the outdoor chapel through its geometries and forms.
One of the central components of a synagogue, the eternal flame is in a prominent central location above the ark and is powered by photovoltaic panels. The ner tamid is the first to be solar powered and reflects a reconceptualization of the concept of an eternal flame.
